Hi, I’m Tom, and together we are raising funds to support ongoing medical care and physiotherapy for Richard Russell – known to many as Rigzy – who was involved in a life-changing car accident in 2021.

After the accident, Richard was initially diagnosed as paralysed from the neck down. Through sheer determination, countless hours of physiotherapy, and a spirit that refuses to quit, he has made incredible progress and now has some mobility in his arms. However, continued therapy and treatment are essential to his recovery, and accessing funding support has been extremely challenging. This has led family, friends, and the wider community to rally together, organising events and fundraising initiatives to ensure Richard can continue his journey.

Thanks to these efforts, we’ve been able to provide much-needed support for Richard and his family so far – but there is still a long road ahead.

This year, we take on another challenge: a team of us will run coast to coast across England, from Bowness-on-Solway to South Shields, following the full length of Hadrian’s Wall over just three days. That’s the equivalent of three back-to-back marathons (plus a few extra miles!).

Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards Richard’s medical care, physiotherapy, and support with day-to-day living. Your donation will genuinely make a difference in helping him continue to progress and maintain quality of life.
