This is Alljoy 4 Paw's latest rescue, Pixie, a mother to 11 puppies who have been fighting a tough battle against both distemper and parvo virus since the day Alljoy 4 Paws rescued them on January 27, 2024! And just last week Mama Pixie and her fosters suffered a devastating loss of four of the precious puppies on their journey to recovery.
The remaining survivors are in urgent need of sponsors to assist with their mounting medical bills already added up to over $6000‼️
The unexpected illness affecting all 11 puppies and Mama Pixie has created a financial strain, especially with the significant costs involved in their treatment!
The rescue spent $850 vet bill on their jailbreak day to get Mama and all 11 puppies checked out after being told the little family had already been showing signs of urinary tract infections. Mama Pixie’s PCR test result came back a few days later indicating she’s positive on distemper‼️ And some of the puppies started showing symptoms of coughing, sneezing, vomiting and diarrhea! We had to quarantine the whole family at their medical foster's home while also getting treatment both at vet and home. The medical care each week costs about $1500, with subsequent weeks incurring further expenses and continue to accumulate as we transition from week 3 going in to week 4!
Last week, we found out in addition to fighting with distemper, the puppies have developed (or have had) parvo, and 4 puppies passed away within two days!
