Support Lauren in Her Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

We are reaching out to you today on behalf of Lauren, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished friend, who is facing the fight of her life. Lauren was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and after completing an intensive 12-week round of chemotherapy, she experienced a small but hopeful victory—her original tumor in the pancreas was significantly reduced. Unfortunately, the battle is far from over. In a devastating turn of events, the cancer has now spread to her liver, and Lauren must now prepare for even more aggressive rounds of treatment. The urgency is greater than ever before as she fights to stop the spread of this relentless disease.

Lauren has built a community of loyal friends and clients who have become like family to her over the years. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication have touched so many lives, and now it is time for us to rally around her as she faces this tremendous battle. As a loving wife to Carlo and a devoted mother to their two children, Nico (15) and Sofia (12), Lauren has always been the heart of their close-knit family.

The toll this diagnosis has taken on their family is profound. While Lauren’s previous round of chemotherapy provided some hope, the fight continues, and the treatments ahead will be even more intense and demanding. Lauren’s time, energy, and focus must be fully dedicated to battling this disease, which means she is no longer able to work in the career she loves. As a realtor, Carlo’s income depends on the time he can devote to his business. Now, with his primary focus on caring for Lauren, Nico, and Sofia, his ability to work has been significantly impacted.

While living in Canada means much of Lauren's medical care is covered, there are additional costs related to her care. For example, the family has hired a specialized consultant from Blueguide, a personal medical guide and advocate to help navigate the often confusing, slow, and inefficient Canadian healthcare system. Blueguide’s services are essential in ensuring that Lauren gets the best possible health outcomes, but they come with significant expenses.

The urgency of Lauren's situation has also been heightened by the need for several important diagnostic tests. While these tests are available through the Canadian healthcare system, the current waiting period is three months—time Lauren simply doesn’t have. To expedite just one of these tests cost in the thousands, with likely more such expenses as treatment progresses. In addition, there may be the possibility of pursuing alternative treatments abroad, which could further add to the family’s needs.

This GoFundMe campaign has been created to help support Lauren and her family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—Lauren’s health and recovery—without the added stress of financial concerns. Our goal is to ensure that Carlo can be present with Lauren and their children, providing the love and care they need, while we as a community help lighten the load.
