Service Dog for Rachel Nielsen
Donation protected
Rachel Nielsen is a 17 year old senior in high school. She will be graduating in May 2017 and attending college in the Fall. She has been diagnosed with a mitochondrial depletion syndrome, gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach), enteric neuropathy, and Orthostatic Intolerance to name a few. Because of these diagnoses she is unable to eat like a normal teenager and is fed through a tube into her small intestine and also through an IV with TPN. Her body has a hard time converting her feeds into energy, thus she tires easily and passes out.
Her neurologist has said she is in need of a service dog. He will be able to help with mobility & stabalization, bring her items she needs off the floor, carry medicine, bring groceries in from the car, and detect migraines & convulsive syncope. With having a service dog who can do these things for her, she will be able to live a more dependent life.
We are seeking for help raising the last $5000 for her service dog. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
