Rachel's Memories Maker Fund

I honestly don’t know where to start with this one so here goes. Rachel is a fantastic human being. A perfect wife, very good friend always there when you need a shoulder to cry on or just a general pick me up. She always thinks of others before herself and even writing this, I know she wouldn’t like all the fuss. If you find it in your heart, I hope you donate but even if money isn’t an option I’m sure she would appreciate the gesture of support and kind words.
Rachel hasn’t had it easy in life. As a child she had a weakness in her left side doctors later said this was due to complications at birth and was like a mild form of cerebral palsy. This caused her to have walking difficulties and as young child needed multiple visits to the hospital for physio, paediatrician, obstetrician, and podiatrist appointments amongst others. It was later discovered after various times of dislocating her knee as a teen/early adult that she also had a condition known as hypermobility syndrome which meant she had very flexible joints which caused this to happen.
She never let any of this get her down and even suffering from being overweight and not being able to be as physically active as others she stayed positive.
I met Rachel in 2007 and it was love at first sight. She had such a good Aura and it just felt right later in the same year we got our first love, our doggy Salem. We got engaged to be Married in 2009 and then later married in Las Vegas on all Hallows Eve 2013 (Rachels Fav. Holiday).
In 2014 after partially losing her eyesight and then a second episode of leg tremors, Rachel was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This is a neurological condition affecting balance, coordination walking and other area like sensory and fatigue amongst others this is a lifelong illness with no cure only treatment to relieve symptoms and pain.
In 2019 after seeking out potential IVF treatment, Rachel was referred to specialist to start her weight loss journey. She has since undergone bariatric surgery to have a portion of her stomach removed meaning she now has a smaller stomach and as a result she has lost a significant amount of weight, in fact half her body mass, an amazing accomplishment.
In 2024 after suffering for months with fatigue and low iron levels further investigations were required and Rachel got the news that she has Metastatic rectal cancer T4b N2 M1 with a positive CRM, EMVI negative, multiple bilateral liver metastasises, likely Polyposis Syndrome.
This is incurable currently and prognosis is treatment to reduce the size of the cancer and for pain relief.
The specialist said this is a management plan rather than recovery but it’s early days. I know Rachel she is a fighter and stubborn I just want her to experience the best of things and make memories with each and every day we have left however long that is, who know what the future holds.
Thank you for Donations and comments they are appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this story.
