Rachael Frinder Gagnon is a fighter, being a survivor of breast cancer. She's lived through some of the darkest, hardest days of her life to overcome enormous odds. Her husband and children bring her much joy and comfort.
However, there is a new battle on Rachael's horizon, an all too familiar one. Earlier this year, Rachael was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her life since has been chronicled in her blog, with heart wrenching personal entries. Many have been touched, and many more want to help. Rachael's Run was born from her families desire to raise awareness of breast cancer, but more so to show Rachael the love and support she has, as well as, provide hope.
Rachael's Run (a 5K run and walk) will be held on Saturday, May 31st, starting at 9 am from Blish Memorial Park in Marlborough, Connecticut. All registration funds will be used help Rachel's medical bills, as well as, the non-profit Little Pink Houses of Hope. Registration is available the day of the event or online- http://www.active.com/marlborough-ct/running/races/rachael-s-run-2014. Registration will begin at 8:00 am at Blish Memorial Park, walkers will begin at 8:30 am, and 5K runners at 9:00 am. Rachael's Run shirts will are offered to the first 100 registrants.
