Overview:
On November 19th, severe rainfall across central Vietnam caused the Ha Thanh River to rise rapidly, flooding the city of Quy Nhon. Thousands of residents were forced to evacuate with little warning.
Across the Central and Central Highlands regions, the floods have destroyed livestock, damaged crops across tens of thousands of hectares, and inundated hundreds of thousands of homes. Authorities are still assessing the full impact as reports of missing and injured individuals continue to rise.
Impact on Our Team
While the Red River Foods Vietnam factory was not directly flooded, many of our colleagues have suffered major personal losses. Homes and belongings have been damaged, and several employees have lost their motorbikes — the primary mode of transportation in Vietnam and essential for both commuting and daily family needs.
Additional flooding remains a risk, and many team members are unable to return to their homes. We are grateful to report that all employees are safe, but the need for support is significant.
What Your Donation Covers
ince launching operations in 2022, our Quy Nhon team has been the heartbeat of the Vietnamese cashew organic supply chain. Their dedication has made our work in Vietnam possible. In this moment of crisis, it is our responsibility to support them as they rebuild.
We are launching a GoFundMe campaign to provide immediate assistance. Funds raised will go directly toward helping employees purchase essential items, including:
- Clothing and blankets
- Diapers and basic household goods
- Food and daily necessities
- Replacement motorbikes for those who lost their only means of transportation
How to Help
Your support, whether through donating or sharing the campaign, will make an immediate and meaningful impact on our colleagues and their families. Thank you for standing with our team during this difficult time.
