Tom Rovito: Fight, Conquer, Survive
If you know Tom, you know he's the big, barrel-chested, muscle-bound, tough guy from the hood. He's been the lead singer in a band, he's been involved in the softball circuit for quite a long time (so long, in fact, that he'd rather I didn't mention it.) =) He's always quick to laugh, sometimes quick to grumble, but always a good guy at heart. This time, the big guy took a hit. Leukemia.
A few short weeks ago, Tom was working long hours, looking forward to a new softball season, and visiting with his son. Before he knew what was happening, he'd fallen very ill, and had been hospitalized with Leukemia.
Tom is still hospitalized, undergoing 6 days of chemo a month, and is unable to take care of himself, or pay to keep his medical benefits or his housing intact. He risks losing everything.
Tom Rovito was born in Butler, PA. He lost his Father in 1963, lost his Mother to cancer in 2000. His sister passed in 2005 from cancer, too.
When Tom lost his Mother to cancer, he worked hard to find ways to help cancer victims in need. Now life has turned the tide, and Tom finds himself in a hospital bed...unable to work due to his hospitalization and aggressive treatment program.
Please, if you can, let's show Tom that he's not the only one who wants to help those in need. If you are able, any amount would help Tom to keep his housing and medical benefits for a little while longer. My hope is that we can keep him covered until he's able to work again.
If we all gave a little something, Tom could concentrate on healing, instead of laying in his hospital bed, worrying if he'll have a home to go to when he's discharged.
If you're unable to make a donation, please SHARE Tom's story. Let's show him that good deeds ARE returned, and that no matter how bad things get, there are people out there who care.
Thank you.
