RJ Mann's Epilepsy Dog Fund

My name is Heather: I am a first grade teacher but most importantly, I am a mommy. I am reaching out to ask for help in raising money to get an epilepsy dog for my sweet little boy , R.J. He is a fabulous, bright 9 year old boy who is in a battle against epilepsy. He is currently hospitalized for uncontrollable seizures due to his unique form of epilepsy. He is also a warrior against ADHD,  Sensory Processing Disorder, anxiety, depression, and a learning disability. R.J. Is one of the most kind and loving children I know. He loves other children, animals, basketball, astronomy, his little sister, and his bro Charlie Cleberg (his 16 year old uncle... Google Charlie.... Totally cool kid!) The money that we raise will go towards acquiring a trained seizure dog that will not only alert us when R.J. has a seizure but also provide him comfort during the fear and confusion he experiences with seizures. As soon as we raise the money we will be able to begin the process of getting the dog through a reputible seizure dog training facil

ity. The idea of my son having a companion to bring him comfort in times of crisis, sleep with him at night and alert me of seizure activity, and just feeling loved by a canine buddy brings me so much hope. We may not be able to stop the seizures yet but at least we can support our sweet boy in being less terrified when they occur. Thank you you so much for taking the time to read our story.
