Help Dolly Find HerWings

Major, a great horse and friend to Katie, passed away on 02/14/14. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Now his greiving owner has the unfortunate task of removing the body and  paying off vet bills that she accrued trying to save him. We all know how difficult it is to lose a loved one. So please donate whatever you can, to help his loving owner get some peace, without drowing in vet bills.

thank you Liz for setting this up.

A little bit more about Major;
Major was born sometime in early 1998 in Shipshewann, Indiana on an Amish farm. He worked there for five years before he was bought by the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA.

This is where I met this magical creature. I hired in November of 2004. I began working And driving major on Main Street in early 2006. Major was diagnosed with EPSM, equine polysaccharide storage myopathy. Basically his muscles couldn't process carbohydrates into energy and had to be fed a high fat diet and exercised regularly.

So everyday that I was at work, and he wasn't on Main Street, we rode or drove together. He taught me confidence in driving, and riding bareback.

He taught so many others a s well. In his five years at disney he touched 1000s of people. From the children on Main Street who had never seen a horse before to the people that were chosen to work with him,  he truly was a magical horse.

Iin June of 2008 it came time for him to be "retired" from disney. That's where I became the luckiest stablehand at Disneyland. Major became my horse. He moved to Norco, CA with a few other retired Disneyland horses, all adopted by handlers at Disneyland.

We had the fortunate ability to work together at disney and outside of disney. We rode in several of the Norco parades as well as showing at the Los Angeles County fair.

Just last year we rode in the Huntington Beach 4th of July parade. Our goal was to eventually ride in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.

Major's trademark look was to have his tongue dangling out of his mouth, he was such a clown :) at the Norco Horseweek adult fun night there was a potato race. I couldn't reach the potato, so he just took a bite of it :) that counts right, we got half the potato across the finish line.

Major isnt just a horse. He was a friend, a co-worker, and a family member.
