Help Me Get Back on the Road to Hope

I am going through a tough time, facing a time of severe uncertainty and a loss of safety and well-being within that has changed me from being the happy, supportive person I usually am to someone struggling with depression and PTSD. My birthday is on May 1st, and right now, I have little to look forward to. Despite being enrolled full-time in college and maintaining a strong GPA, as well as working as much as I can, the rising cost of living has left me with no funds for anything beyond the basics, and caring for my 9-month-old kitten, Pyro. He has been my top priority in making sure that he is well loved and cared for and has all he needs to have enrichment and a great life, but have neglected myself and what could make for a more positive reality for myself.

After having my motorcycle license for 10 years, I hoped to finally invest in a motorcycle as a gift to myself this year. Moving into this year felt like a positive time to allow safety and the freedom of being on two wheels to be part of my life. Unfortunately, due to a charge off from the pandemic, I was denied a loan, making it impossible to afford one on my own. A motorcycle would make my daily commute to school and work easier and more affordable, and it would also provide a sense of relief and a way to connect with other bikers in my community, something I believe would positively contribute to my well-being. This small joy would mean so much to me as I continue to fight for my safety, sanity and try to remain hopeful in these hard times. I rarely give myself permission to enjoy life's pleasures or even obtain things that will bring me joy, so I am being vulnerable with hopes that by putting this out into the world, I will be met with generosity and kindness.

To anyone who donates, please know how grateful I am. It takes a lot for me to reach out for support, and your generosity will not go in vain. I promise to use your help wisely, maintain safe measures, and work to restore my credit so I can keep building toward a better future. Thank you for being open to supporting my journey and helping me find hope again.

My goal is to purchase a bike under between $4,500-5,000. This would afford me space to ride safely, smoothly, and obtain proper insurance to be safe and covered.

$5,000 is what Capital One is holding over my head due to COVID instabilities, so if I am able to work something out with them and restore my credit, this would allow me space to recover and get back on the road to having less burdens stopping me from being the resilient person I once was.

IF my goal is met, I will use any remainder funds to lower my debt-to-income ratio, so that I am not seen as a liability.

I have been applying to as many grants, scholarships and such to accommodate the insecurities I am experiencing, but still fall in the "hurry up and wait" game. If you know any cheerful givers, please share on my behalf.
