REMEMBERING RHEA
Rhea was diagnosed with small lymph node cancer on March 10th which had invaded her entire right lung & liver.
Her diagnoses came after her appointment on March 1st for a NOT SO FEEL GOOD visit. At the time she was diagnosed with bronchitis. She was given steroids & a 5 day supply of antibiotics to help. This did not clear up her cough or chest pressure.
She had blood work & scans done to diagnose her medical health issues. Since she had been challenged with a liver issues previously, so the thought of liver cancer was a possibility.
With a follow up visit at GHCH on March 18th which included a cat scan with dye, they waited for results.
She was given the news on March 31st via video that she had cancer. Not just cancer but, LIFE THREATENING CANCER.
Her prognosis wasn't anything the family or her doctor expected. On April 2nd .. She was given the grim result of 3 days to 3 months of survival.
Her only wish was to see her daughter Rashelle graduate. With the community, family & friends. Rhea's wish was granted. ( see attached links) A parade & mini graduation ceremony was performed on April 18th, allowing Rhea to watch her daughter graduate, looking out the window. (see photo)
On April 21st @ 11:51 .. Rhea passed. Her fight was over. Her daughter had graduated .. Her husband stood by her side.
Over the rainbow was her song she listened to that day.. That day she did just that ...
Funds will help detour the cost of mounting medical bills. To help pay off the vehicle that helps transport Rashelle, her wheelchair for her special needs.
