Camp 4 Kids with Autism Need Bus!
Tax deductible
RAIN was started by a single mom with a child on the Autism spectrum. Robin Davis saw the need for activities for kids with a primary diagnosis of Autism, PDD- NOS or other related developmental disability and resigned from her job with the state of Virginia to create a summer camp experience specifically for kids with autism.
RAIN is excited to be offering a fourth summer of Camp Free2BMe! We have new places to explore and new volunteers to help us and we also have new partners to expand the camp experience to the younger kids starting at age 3!
Camp is primarily funded by tuition and donations from amazing folks like you. Currently we have several "big ticket" (to us anyway!) items that need to be addressed BEFORE camp starts June 22, 2015.
Our biggest need is a BUS of our own!
Transportation this summer for 9 weeks of camp will cost us $8500. The money we have put in over the last 3 years would have bought us a bus that we could use year round for winter break camp, spring break camp, geo cache trips, etc. We have licensed bus drivers, we just do not have the bus. Last year we rented a bus which stayed broken down most of the summer.
Part of the success and purpose of Camp Free2BMe is to get our kids with autism and their peer buddies out in the community, involved and exploring. A bus is CRUCIAL to our success!!
And of course, we always need assistance funding those kiddos that have financial needs. We have never turned away a child due to the inability to pay and don't plan on starting now, however donations toward a campers costs is always greatly appreciated! One week of camp costs $325.
Camp starts June 22, 2015. Can you spare a few dollars? It would truly put a smile on the face of many children!!
