Time to Heal for the Quinlan Family
Donation protected
We live in a world that offers very little opportunity to truly grieve. Kate Quinlan, a beloved community member, amazing writer, and upholder of those some may describe as downtrodden, is currently experiencing a grief no mother should have to bear. Her brilliant, community-minded, and stunningly artistic child Blake Quinlan has died at only nineteen years old. This death has rocked our community and left many of us asking, "What can we do to help?"
Here's where this Go Fund Me (GFM) comes in. Kate, as a former facilitator for the effective and popular Bridges Out of Poverty program, knows better than most how systems can keep people in poverty, often invisibly. With Kate's permission, we are creating this GFM so that someone who uplifted so many of us can now feel that same support be returned.
Kate is being encouraged to return to work, and financially, she hasn't much choice. What we are hoping to give her instead is some breathing space - something she was always so willing to offer to others. Donations to Kate will allow her to process this devastating loss with all of her attention, and return to work feeling ready. We know that if this loss is not truly felt, it will impact her negatively in all areas of her life. Funds will go toward basic needs, including counseling. Please help Kate breathe and honour Blake, and focus on her family during this unbearable trial.
