My reasons for setting up this funding site are twofold. First, to help an inventor get the resources he so deserves after decades of study, research, design and development!
Secondly, I live in a small community of about 8000 people that lacks employment opportunities. Young people are challenged as they mature and begin looking for work while others often find the jobs are insufficient to support their families.
It’s our goal and desire to create a substantial, successful audio manufacturing company that will provide jobs for a significant number of people and help to stabilize our local economy. We believe we have the skills, talent, product and experience to make this happen!
Here's the short version of the story:

In the spring of 2013 I had the good fortune of meeting an amazing, inspiring man who was performing locally with his guitar. His music was full of expression, creativity and talent and I could tell he had something unique going on. I soon learned that this man had spent decades in engineering and manufacturing, but now spent his days landscaping in order to spend his nights working long hours in his lab in the woods.
George and I became partners in life and work and we set off on our journey to build an audio manufacturing company.

George’s knowledge, intellect and goals had been driving him to create, develop and invent since the day he was born. For the last 20+ years music has been the focus of his engineering developments. He has spent decades researching and thinking about the physics of music, wave theory, analog signal processing and more.
George questioned the many myths surrounding the use of vacuum tubes in guitar amplification. Tubes are dangerous, inefficient, heavy, and obsolete. He was determined to create a new, safe, ("green") energy efficient method to achieve the desirable effects of tubes while eliminating the many problems they have.
His research resulted in the creation of an analog "solid-state-tube" circuit that led to a guitar amplifier that contains nothing digital and weighs in at barely 20 pounds! (see photos below) This new "solid-state-tube" based amplifier replaces the old archaic inefficient tube amplifiers and does so with extreme reliability, beautiful tube style sound, and even qualifies as an SELV (Safe Extra Low Voltage) device.
We then formed a manufacturing company, Quimper Electronic Systems LLC (QES) with the intent to bring the "solid-state-tube" circuit to the world in a wide variety of products.

The "solid-state-tube" circuit was designed and developed for guitar amplifiers, but George discovered that it also has a wide variety of applications in the music industry such as amplifiers for many other instruments; violin, bass, acoustic guitar, harp, ukelele etc, microphone preamps, mixing boards, PA equipment, studio signal processors, stereo equipment, and more.
More details as to why this circuit is such an industry changing invention for musicians and the world of music will have to be left to George to explain in his forthcoming technical articles, journals, books and updates on the website (quimperelectronic.com).
Initial design and development is complete, suppliers and contractors have been lined up and we have lots of interest from musicians, stores and venue owners.
What we don’t have and very much need now is a shop and the equipment and raw materials needed to go into full scale production of the products.
Donations to our campaign would be used for: (1) buying raw materials to make more guitar amplifiers (2) leasing or buying a shop space and equipment, flow solder machine, assembly tables, file cabinets, storage racks etc (3) preparing for and attending a trade show in Tacoma in May as well as other shows around the country during this year (4) researching and acquiring two very important trademarks (4) ads, publicity, brochures and sales materials (5) acquiring badly needed lab equipment such as a ($14,000) 2700 series Analog Audio Analyzer, lab power supplies, oscilloscopes, and meters, (6) data acquisition (7) purchasing software (8) and consequently hiring lots of people.
We believe that our goals are important and have the potential to change the music industry in significant ways in the near future and beyond! This is why we need your help at this critical point in time.
We are deeply grateful for any and all donations (large and small!) and we want to show our gratitude by offering rewards to you when you make donations.
I’ll be posting updates as progress continues and let each of you know what your contributions are doing to help make all this happen!

Thanks for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation!!
We so very much appreciate each one of you.
Here's one of my favorite quotes by George: "The technical reasons why we love the sound of tubes are actually few and not at all mysterious to QES. The truth of the matter is that tube sound and dynamics are not only entirely achievable without tubes or anything digital involved, but the effect can and has been improved upon by Quimper Electronic Systems."
