Putting Gillian Vernice to rest- Support for repatriation, autopsy, and hospital fees
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
We the Vernice family, are reaching out to you with heavy hearts as our dear Gillian, a loving wife, mother, sister, coach, and friend has been unexpectedly put to rest. A loss that has sent shockwaves through our family, friends, and community.
On August 19th Gillian was travelling to the island of Antigua to represent the Turks and Caicos Islands with the U14 National Soccer team where she fell suddenly ill. She deteriorated very quickly while being admitted to the Emergency Room in St Johns, Antigua.
This tragedy has struck us with a force beyond comprehension, intensifying the pain as we reflect on the fact that Gillian was not at home with her beloved husband and children when she departed this world. Our family now grapples not only with the profound sorrow of losing a beloved family member but also with the mounting financial burdens arising from Gillian’s absence from home.
Due to her passing in a foreign country, things are extremely complicated, timely and expensive. We need financial support to fulfill her passing wishes and to bring her home. We must also bear the burden of determining the actual cause of Gillian’s death. As a family we would like to gain closure and fully understand the full extent to her passing.
We want to follow her wishes to be cremated and put to rest with her mother in the United Kingdom and her island oasis in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The funds raised will be directed towards essential expenses, including repatriation, and pathology fees.
Gillian’s memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Every contribution, regardless of its size, represents a step toward providing us with assistance we require to navigate this tumultuous journey.
All proceeds will go directly to Eric Vernice, to pay for costs related to Gillian's passing.
