Support the Gore Family's House Repairs

Hi there folks, we are a large family struggling with paying our bills and getting repairs done to this old 1950 home. Its actually a great home but it was previously neglected as so many homes are in today’s market. Not to place any direct blame on any past residents because taking care of a home is no easy task as I am finding out!! We are really struggling to make ends meet with this market as I am sure many of you out there in the world are to. So, we moved to this home about two years ago around July of 2022 and almost immediately after we moved in, we have experienced one problem after another. We have a sink where the faucet is ready to basically fall off anytime and will cause a plumbing nightmare once that happens. This is a dire fix that needs to be resolved quickly before it happens. We will literally have to turn off the water supply on the city line to stop the water from damaging the wood if this breaks and then we will not be able to use the water to do the dishes, laundry, or basically anything until this is resolved. The good thing is we have no plumbing leaks as of now. However, our plumbing bill still runs about $400.00 dollars a month!!! Our food bill is running around $3000 a month, our mortgage is around $2000.00 a month with the new property tax that we got this year that was a $200.00 increase!!! Our water heater needs to be replaced with an electric water heater, we have to heat the water on the stove to take a warm shower or bath and it has been like this for a very long time. We had to have the city come and lockout the gas because it was leaking in the house and could have caused a serious incident.

Part of the foundation has holes in the bathroom in my son’s room in the half bath, we need to get a plumbing cleanout installed and the hose excavated underneath the house to fix the rusting pipes and replace them with PVC so that the toilets can be used again with out having to be snaked out every three months or so. We cannot use the stove with the burners on and the oven on at the same time because the electric gauge wire needs to be replaced and the breaker box needs to be updated or it will trip the breaker and shut off the stove. We must get a replacement water heater due to the gas leak and have a wire ran to the electric box to supply the water heater the electrical juice to run. In addition, the water heater room is going to need to be knocked down to get the water heater out and then built again because it was literally built around the water heater!!

The doors are going to need to be replaced as well, along with the locks and our air conditioner is going to need some maintenance as well ducts cleaned out etc. The kitchen will basically need to be remodeled due to the water damage and wood rot, and the kitchen counters are literally falling apart and the kitchen windows need to be repaired due to a small leak when it rains. So, you could say we have some major work to do to get this resolved. I am now working two jobs averaging around 60 hours a week and things are getting better slowly but the stress is astronomical, and we really would love some help and getting these repairs done.
