Hello!

It's rare that I reach out and ask for help, especially on such a public platform. I take great pride in struggling, working hard, and succeeding all on my own, in private. But if the last few years have taught us anything, it's taught us the importance of living life to its fullest, seizing every day like it's our last, and leaning on our communities for strength and inspiration. So I am reaching out to you, my community of beloved friends and family, for your help in finally getting my dream music project off the ground.

I have been writing music for about 15 years. And 10 years ago, in 2012 at the age of 25, I started playing around with producing my own music as well. I was producing songs from my phone, really just playing with different melodies and rhythms, trying to figure out my personal sound. Much of that music was never actually shared with anyone. It just became an outlet for me that I kept private. And then life happened and I stopped altogether.

You all have watched me spend over a decade of my life circumnavigating this burning desire to create a music project that expresses a genuine piece of who I am, and share that music with the world. Regardless of what I have accomplished outside of music, the question has always remained the same from each of you. If I had a dollar for every time one of you asked me over the years what I was doing with my voice, I'd be one wealthy woman.

The truth is that I was scared, unwilling to leap, and convinced that I needed to go the traditional career route if I wanted any sort of success or comfort in this life. But God has a way of teaching us that there is no comfort in denying ourselves our wildest potential.

This year, it became increasingly clear to me that what I was doing wasn't enough and I was riddled with anxiety about what to do next. So when I happened to come across those same songs that I had started on 10 years ago, I suddenly realized why I felt so incomplete. I never finished what I had started. Somehow 25-year-old me didn't have the vision. Today that vision is clear.

Flashing back to 2012, that same year I met a fantastic UK artist named Rachel Kerr, and her husband, Ayo, during their trip to New York City. I was truly amazed by her raw talent and what her team had done with her budding career- not to mention the artist development they had accomplished with dozens of other singers in the UK. But when they asked me to work with them on my own project, at the time, I just wasn't ready.

Now is that time.

I will be heading to London in November, just after my 35th birthday, to work with their team of writers, musicians, producers, engineers, videographers, and creative visionaries to develop the first 2-3 songs that I started a decade ago.

I then plan to travel to seven countries across six continents over the next year. I’ll be back and forth throughout that time, continuing to work and live in NYC for the most part. But my objective is not only to share my music with audiences around the globe, but also to collaborate with local artists in each region to give this project a world music sound that would truly speak to my passion for travel and the blending of cultures.

I can't tell you where this project will ultimately take me. I can only tell you that it is something that will truly make me feel complete and ready to take on whatever comes next! So if you have it in your hearts to help me in this endeavor, I would be forever grateful and extremely touched in knowing that you believed in me enough to support this project! $100 or even $50 will go such a long way.
