Never Gave Up, Never Will

Imagine a women that loves life so much that she has never shown anger towards anyone (not even towards me, her husband :)
She kills with kindness. You would fall in love with her soothingly melodic voice. And as an RN, she relates with empathy and cares with passion. That's my amazing and beautiful wife, Priya, who is a true angel in disguise. She is also a two time cancer survivor, and now a third time patient. She has spent the best years of her life fighting cancer, and now she has the hardest fight of them all.
On 9/8/16, and after a year of hospital visits and a weeklong stay at Stanford after surgery, Priya was diagnosed with a signet ring cell adenocarcinoma. It is a cancer that most commonly originates in the GI tract. Tumor has yet to be found, but the cancer has spread and is in Stage 4 status. There is also no known cure for this cancer. This Monday, she will begin chemotherapy to attempt to shrink the tumor, whether they can find it or not. At this time, we are terrified, heart broken, and lost right now, but we are hopeful for a cure.
Up until a few weeks ago, Priya was spending her nights caring for patients in San Francisco General Hospital's. She would come home at 830am, exhausted, sleep for a few hours, and then do it again. On her days off, she would work a second job as a Palliative care nurse for infants and children who are already nearing the final days of their lives. And now, she will be fighting to have a longer life than the doctors could promise her. We are searching for clinical trials and will be traveling to see specialists. We are determined to find a cure. I can't lose my wife. She has struggled too much. This may seem very unfair and cruel, and it is. In all of Priya's life, besides our marriage and our first home purchase last year, she has only gotten bad news. That is true despite all the good she does, despite her beautiful and giving soul, or her dedication to her religion.
I hate to add the financial stress to this so that's why I'm asking for help. We already have a pile of bills and each visit keeps adding to it. My insurance will cover 80% of the bills. That leaves us with 20% and Priya has already had a dozen PET, ultra sounds, MRI scans, surgical procedures, and In Vitro Fertilization fees, and soon we will have chemotherapy costs to add to that. We are wits end and considering selling our home to help pay for the medical bills and expenses. But, that would only add to the fight, and nearly impossible to accomplish at this moment. She worked so hard to buy and build this little home of ours. Each nook and cranny of our home has her personal touch of good luck, wisdom, love, life, and memories. We are not ready to box that up. Not yet, if we can help it.

Please help us make this transition a little easier to swallow. This way we can focus all our energy on doing everything we can to find a cure. We have always been givers, and not used to taking, so once she gets back on her feet and we get the ball rolling again, we would be more than happy to give back to a charity of your choice. Thank you so much. God Bless you and your support will never be forgotten.
