Princess Abrianna's Sweet Dreams

Donation protected

In September last year our family was given the most devastating news. Our Beautiful Niece Abrianna was diagnosed with a fatal rare genetic condition called Krabbe disease.  She was born normal like every other Krabbe baby and at the age of 10 months started to show symptoms.

Symptoms begun with irritability, fevers, limb stiffness, feeding difficulties, vomiting, and slowing of mental and motor development. Other symptoms include muscle weakness, spasticity, deafness, blindness, paralysis and difficulty when swallowing. Children with Krabbe disease don't usually live past the age of 2.

Abi was doing incredible, and consultants were thrilled with how she was in February. Unfortunately, her tummy stopped absorbing food only a few months later. Proof that Abi was a true fighter was shown throughout her life, up until the last moment when she survived for 14 days without food or fluid. She took her last breaths peacefully whilst being cuddled by her mummy at the age of 2 years and 5 months.

Our brother, sister in law and nephew Joshua (5 years old) have been truly amazing. The strength and bravery they’ve shown, and are still showing now, has been inspirational. We are incredibly proud.

Here’s the part where we reach out and ask for your help. Unfortunately the costs of a funeral are not cheap, and Abrianna deserves a sendoff fit for the princess she was. So please if you can, please make a small donation to help towards the finances, to make an already horrendous thing, easier for a family who have been through so much already.

I understand that some people might think this is cheeky but we too don't know what to say or do and this is one way we know will help them xxx

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their thoughts and for sending us all love and support. Everyone at Keech Hospice Care have been a rock to Abi, Tom, Catherine and Joshua. Being there for them right up until Abi’s last breaths.

Sweet dreams Abi, we all love you so much and even though our hearts are broken we know you are finally free xxxxxxx
