My husband, Brett, and I have created this fundraiser to raise money to help support our dear friend, Dr. Amanda Renshaw-Pride. Dr. Pride is a long-time friend that I've known for many years and my all-time-favorite doctor to be able to change lives with together!!
She has poured her heart into healing so many patients over her career, it truly is her passion in life - in addition to her husband and 3 children.
As many of you know, she was invovled in a very tragic car accident and has been severly injured. She was hit head on (on the highway), her jeep turned around in the air and she landed on the car behind her. We are grateful and thankful to our God Almighty that she is still with us today, but it will be a long and tough recovery for her (and the family) well into the future. She is suffering from 3 fractured lumbar vertebrae, a fractured sacrum, fractured femur (at length), multiple fractures in her left ankle/foot, just about shattered the right ankle/foot, 5 broken ribs, punctured lung, and lacerations on the liver and spleen...not including all the bumps and bruises that encompass the rest of her body.
The repairing process of the above injuries have begun, but we know that is ONLY the beginning...she has a long and painful recovery ahead of her. She mainly asks that you please keep praying for her (as she continues to pray for her patients-bc that is her true spirit) and visiting her helps distract from the pain for a moment; however, we all know that financial assistance will absolutely be needed well into the future, as she will need help caring not only for herself as she learns to walk again, but also for caring for her children. The daily living that we all take for granted will be such a chore for her as she heals and learns to live again.
