Meet ARTIE!!! The sweetest most energetic fun loving 4 year old I know.
At 2am on December 8th 2014 Artie was rushed to the ER after experiencing severe pain in his ear. What was thought to be a painful ear infection was soon diagnosed to be something no one every expected. After Doctors ran several test and X-Rays, Doctor’s broke the news to Artie’s parents Maria Cerna and Arthur Brazao that Artie may have cancer. Beyond belief of this possibility Artie was rushed to CHOC hospital via ambulance for further test. A few hours later Artie would enter the surgery room where doctors would examine him. After surgery is when Artie’s parents would hear the worst news a mother or father could hear. “Your son has Leukemia.” Wishing to wake up from this horrible nightmare, Maria and Art stayed strong for their son. Together these 3 united in strength and have leaned on each other in order to get through this difficult time. These last few days I have been inspired through the strength and courage Maria and Art have. I see the fight in this 4 year old. I know this family will get through this difficult and kick Cancers butt. This fund was set up for the family so they can care for all of Artie’s needs and treatment over the next year without the burden to worry about bills. Maria and Art will both be taking time off of work in order to care for Artie at home. Artie will be in the hospital for about a month which the bills are already racking up. Art and Maria have ask for nothing but may of you have ask what you can do to help this family. we can take the Cancer away but we can support this family in any way we can. This fund allows you to help if you can, and if you can’t that’s okay too, please just share Artie’s story.
