Hello family and friends! I didn’t think I would be here writing to you all again about unforeseen circumstances that have, once again, affected my family this year. Please help us support my Mausi (aunt), Pratima Lal and her family, during this time of uncertainty.

In September of 2020, my amazing, kind-hearted Mausi (my mom, Usha Lal’s younger sister) Pratima, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The form of breast cancer she is battling is Ductal Carcinoma, currently this is at a Stage 3, Grade 4 (this indicates that it is particularly an aggressive form). Pratima Mausi began her treatment on November 18th, with a 6 cytotoxic regimen (cell poison). My aunt Pratima, together with her son Unksh and husband Ravi Sharma have a very difficult and challenging time ahead. This illness has started to test them physically, mentally and financially. This treatment is intense and continues for almost a year, if not longer

Pratima is an employee of Stanislaus County with limited accrued sick time and vacation. In order for her to keep her oncologist and same knowledgeable medical staff at Emanuel Medical Center, she will have to pay for her own health insurance once FMLA and vacation time is depleted. While we all have, as an extended family, been there supporting her in each and every way we can, we realize that something’s are beyond our means. We are continually praying for her as she has done for every one who has reached out to her and needed a prayer in their difficult times.

While we choose to believe that she will be a winner in this fight against this cancer, we realize that we need friends and family by our side . Pratima has been the strength of her family, raising a very intelligent kid who has grown up beyond his 13 yrs. We are humbly asking to please consider donating to remove the financial worries that come with the Cancer treatment. If you are a co-worker, she could use some donated time. These funds will help Pratima to continue paying her health premiums, therapies and cost of living.
