Help Prada get Cleft Palate Surgery

Donation protected

Prada is a Dalmatian, she was born at 12:15 p.m.  on Saturday the 29th weighing 10.5 ounces. As soon as she arrived she was gasping for air and was already deattached from her placenta. We worked on her for over an hour getting her to breathe normally, and getting her body temperature up. By the next morning I weighed her again to see she had lost half an ounce. She was also having a hard time staying on a nipple to nurse. We took a flashlight shined it in her mouth and that's when my heart broke. Prada had an open hole in the roof of her mouth which is called Cleft palate. Cleft palate enables them to latch on to nurse properly. I reached out to a foundation for assistance, we took her immediately for help and I was taught how to tube feed Prada every 2 hours. I contacted my vet I was told they don't do surgery and most cleft palate puppies are euthanized. Euthanasia was not an option for me nor Prada. Prada has been a fighter and I'm going to fight with her. For Prada to eat normally and not be at risk her whole life for aspiration pneumonia she needs her palate to be repaired. We have done research and have talked to others with experience with cleft palate puppies. Our best option is to drive to Colorado to have her palate repaired when she is 4 weeks of age. This vet has performed cleft palate surgeries with success this is her chance at living a normal life. Please help Prada get to Colorado  to have the surgery on September 25. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
