Hi, my name is Alex, and I’m reaching out in a moment of urgent need. I’m a single, disabled woman, and I recently lost everything in a devastating duplex fire in NE Portland, OR — a fire that started through no fault of my own. In just moments, my home, clothes, food, furniture, and basic necessities were all gone. My support dog and I thankfully made it out safely, but we’re now left with nothing. I did not have renters insurance and the landlord is not assisting me financially or otherwise, leaving us homeless and in desperate need of a new place to rent
I’m currently trying to secure emergency housing, replace essential items like clothing, food, and hygiene products, and cover basic costs while I figure out my next steps. Being disabled, it’s already difficult to navigate everyday life — and now I’m facing this crisis without a safe place to call home.
I’ve always tried to be strong and independent, but I can’t get through this alone. Any donation — no matter the size — will help me rebuild and keep going. Even if you’re unable to give, sharing this page with others would mean the world to me.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me get back on my feet during this heartbreaking time.
With gratitude,
Alex and Doggo
