Pocho's Battle - La batalla de Pocho

Family and friends,
On this past March 1, Domingo Lopez, fondly known as Pocho, suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest while he was at home with his 12-year-old daughter Violeta, Giovanna his wife, and his sister-in-law Paola.
Upon arrival, the paramedics could not find a heartbeat and proceeded to perform CPR on him for about 20 minutes until they managed to get a pulse. While being transferred to the hospital, Pocho suffered a second cardiac arrest. Pocho's situation is critical right now. His MRI and CT-Scans are showing brain damage, although the medical team can not asses the extent of the damage yet as Pocho has not yet awakened.
When we heard the news, us, his friends and family, felt that the world was falling apart. We cannot begin to express how we feel at this moment; it is a combination of anguish and fear, but at the same time the need to maintain the faith and have strength so we can provide an atmosphere of hope and optimism for Violeta.
This is a cry for help! We need your help while we find a way to take care of the surmounting amount of medical expenses and family support in the fight for the life of our Pocho.
At this time, like many of our families, Pocho's family has been hit by the circumstances and trials that the pandemic has presented all of us making Pocho the sole provider of his household and of his animal rescue, Street Paws. As an animal lover and rescuer, one of the biggest concerns for the family is the wellbeing of the animals that he has rescued over the years as well.
We are sharing his story with you today because we need your help. If you can make any financial contribution to help Pocho's family, we will always be grateful. We know Violeta will grow knowing the kindness of others, that people's generosity is not only limited to those whom we love, that sometimes we can help only because it comes from the heart. She will see how people from all over the world came together selflessly to give her dad the chance to keep fighting for the chance of remaining here for her. Hola familia y amigos,
El pasado 1 de marzo, Domingo Lopez conocido como Pocho sufrió un paro cardiorrespiratorio mientras estaba en la casa con su hija Violeta de 12 años, Giovanna su esposa y su cuñada Paola. Al llegar los paramédicos encontraron que no tenía pulso y lo reanimaron por 20 minutos hasta que lograron encontrarle un leve latido. Al trasladarlo al hospital, Pocho sufrió un segundo paro cardiorespiratorio. La situación de Pocho es crítica en estos momentos. Sus MRI y CT-Scans muestran daño cerebral, aunque todavía no se sabe el grado del daño ya que Pocho aún no ha despertado.
Al enterarnos de la noticia, sus amigos y familia sentimos que el mundo se desmoronaba, no podemos explicar lo que sentimos en este momento, es una combinación de angustia, miedo y la necesidad de mantener la fé y tener fuerza en un ambiente de esperanza alrededor de Violeta.
¡Esto es un grito de auxilio! Necesitamos tu ayuda con gastos médicos y apoyo familiar en la lucha por la vida de nuestro Pochito.
En este momento, como muchas de nuestras familias, la familia de Pocho ha estado buscando la manera de organizarse en medio de las circunstancias y pruebas que la pandemia nos ha ido presentando a todos y que han hecho que Pocho se convirtiera en el proveedor único de su casa y de su fundacion de rescate de animales, Street Paws. Amante de los animales, otra de las angustias de la familia es poder continuar la ayuda a los animales que han rescatado durante años.
Te estamos contando nuestra historia porque necesitamos tu ayuda. Si puedes hacer una donación financiera para ayudarnos, siempre estaremos agradecidos. Sabemos que Violeta crecerá conociendo las bondades de los demás, que la generosidad de las personas no solo se limita a los que queremos, que a veces podemos ayudar solo por que nos nace del corazón, Viole verá cómo personas de todas partes se unieron desinteresadamente para darle a su papá la oportunidad de seguir luchando por estar aquí para ella.
