Pls help w Meg Shinko's loss of her son Nathaniel
Donation protected
Meg Shinko, one of my closest friends, suddenly lost the light of her life on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, when her only child, Nathaniel Brewer, passed unexpectedly due to complications from a recent surgery. He was a Freshman in Lake Middle/High School, a musician who played the Trombone in the Lake Blue Streak's Marching, Jazz and Concert bands, and had a fierce love of animals and a knack for stage performance. He was a kind, thoughtful soul with talent and enthusiasm to spare. Deeply rooted in his faith, he was also an active member of Youth Ministries. Nathaniel was the absolute light of Meg's life and lived at the epicenter of her universe. He touched anyone he met and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Nathaniel Mavin Brewer was just 14 years old.
His mother, Meg, and I have been friends for nearly ten years. She is one of the most stoic, determined, Faithful and dedicated people I have ever known. She is the sole proprietor of her business and runs a small, private equine facility singlehandedly. I have never seen anyone work as tirelessly as she, nor have I seen anyone work 7-days a week, 52 weeks out of the year. She does it all, and more, year after year. Yet, despite that, she always made time to do special activities with Nathaniel: a trip to the zoo, the local swimming pool or an afternoon at a museum or nearby festival... As a mother, I have the utmost respect for her devotion to her son. And regardless of her hard work and dedication, finances were always a little tight. Unfortunately, with Nathaniel's sudden passing, her financial burden will only become heavier.
We live in an amazingly supportive, tight-knit community, and there are kind and caring people everywhere. I want to do everything I can to help Meg through this unbearably tricky time, and I am setting up this platform as a solution for those looking for a way to help her but don't know how, or maybe where, to begin.
Donations will go directly toward helping her cover funeral costs, medical bills, and any other expenses which may arise from this horrible tragedy.
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to read this story. If you are able to donate, please consider doing so. Any amount will help!
