On February 20,2026 while on a family vacation our father Enrique Magdaleno suffered a minor stroke (TIA) while on a tour in Sintra, Portugal he was taken to a local hospital where he was shortly diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis his right artery was more than 90% clogged and needed surgery/procedure to be cleared and safe to fly back home. Wife Estela and daughter Julie stayed behind in Lisbon, Portugal with Enrique to wait on further testing and surgery appointment. God has definitely tested our faith through this heartbreaking situation and we have faith we will see us through it.

This has brought on a weight of unexpected expenses, while our dad is in the hospital my mom and sister julie are staying in a hotel in Lisbon, they go see my dad daily during visiting hours 12-8pm. We expect my dad to recover and come home safely soon! Funds raised will go towards hotel expenses, food, transportation, flights back home, and medical expenses. My dad is 65 and was in the mist of getting Medicare despite the insurance coverage, because he was in a foreign country - no healthcare benefits are available to him.

For my mom and sister as well, I can only imagine how hard is to be away from your family for so long. For my sister, who is the sole provider to her family i know how much of a sacrifice she made when we she agreed to stay behind and care for my parents.

We know our dad is loved by many, he is the motor to our family and has always lend a hand when asked with no hesitation, helping him financially during this challenging phase just seems like the right thing to do after he’s gone through so much.
