Rosie and her twin brother Sienna came into my life at 5 weeks old. A farmer found them both starving and cold in the forest. He brought them to an animal hospital where they were fed and well taken care of and given to a neighbor's daughter, who turned out to be allergic. The timing was perfect when they were offered to me. Within the year, though, Sienna contracted FIPS (like what AIDS is to people) and died. Rosie taught me a lot about grieving; we had to comfort each other. I was so loving to her that she has learned to purr again and fall asleep on my tummy. I do not...I cannot...lose her; whatever room I am in, there she be, and she even helps me to paint.
Lately Rose's health problems have compounded and she is in danger of infection and abscess. The Vet maintains she needs surgery to remove the nonfunctioning glands that are causing the trouble.
I always taught to make a living but am retired now with little income. I most certainly cannot afford the $6,500 required for this surgery.
Anything you can contribute would be so appreciated.
