Starr's Emergency Surgery

I am a very worried dog mom at this moment. My sweet, loving, and very trusting basset hound Starr (who many of you know from my incessant posts prominently featuring her funny face) was shot today while playing in her own, fenced backyard. She is at an emergency vet clinic awaiting surgery to repair her stomach and diaphragm, and without this surgery she is not likely to live. Unfortunately, I am embarrassed to say that I was financially unprepared for this situation and the vet will not perform the surgery without payment in advance. Obviously, it is never easy to ask friends for help, but I would do anything to save Starr's life. I don't expect anyone to take on my burdens, but if any of my dog-loving friends feel inclined to contribute to Starr's emergency surgery fund, I would be eternally grateful.
