Disabled, Lost My Home. About To Lose My Car & Storage, Too.

My name is Amanda "Rory" Williams. I live in Missouri, and I'm a disabled adult; I fractured my spine in a work accident back in 2009. I have been crippled ever since, and require a cane to walk. At the end of June 2025, I lost my apartment because of our country's newly-found financial turmoil. Now I'm on the verge of losing my car, too.

Last year I took out a title loan on my vehicle in a desperate attempt to not lose my housing, as they kept raising my rent even though my income hadn't changed in several years and I'd JUST lost a job due to "downsizing" within the company. I was desperate to keep a roof over my head. Since then, I've struggled to keep up with both my title loan payments AND my rent (the current payoff amount is nearly double what I originally took out, which was $1500 because by that point I was over 2 months behind on rent), until things came to a boiling point at the end of June and they refused to renew my lease after my adult son, who had been living with me, broke our lease in February. I'm currently staying with my sister until I can figure out what to do, and my belongings are in a storage unit up the street.

Unfortunately, I was injured at work on an OSHA violation (NOT my fault) just a few days after moving out of my apartment. I've missed some work while trying to recover, which has been slow since I'm also disabled and already mobility-impaired, and seeking treatment that my employer is trying not to take responsibility for. I had to hire an attorney to help me stand up for myself, and by employer responsed by immediately reducing me to 25hrs/wk all through the busy summer AND holiday season. Now I'm behind on my title loan by several months due to reduced hours at work. My bank account is heavily overdrawn as a result of the pay advances that roll out of my account every pay cycle due to my moving expenses from June, and my money being stolen in several recent data breaches.

I had to take out roughly $1000 in pay advances to cover some of the moving expenses back in June (a family member payed the movers, but I had repairs and cleaning to do among other things), and now those roll through my account every payday and I see almost NONE of my paycheck. I've managed to pay some of it back by taking out less every cycle, but I just don't make enough per check to get my head above water. I'm also nearing 30 days behind on my storage unit where my WHOLE life is currently being stored, and if I don't come up with $84 (includes late fee) for December and $70 for January 1st, they'll stay the process of selling all my belongings and flipping the unit on the 15th, and my whole life and all my memories will be gone.

I was supposed to make good on a promise to pay TitleMax on the 28th of December, but due to my data being stolen in several recent data breaches, the money I had set aside is now gone after someone accessed my banking cards online, and I'm looking at weeks of headache trying to get the money back. I was told by TitleMax that I would need to make a full payment of $350 on the 28th or they will "begin collection activities" on my vehicle. Since my paychecks have been significantly smaller than normal due to my injury and reduced hours/pay, I have no way to come up with the money.

If I lose my vehicle, I'll lose my job, and there's no telling how long it would take me to find new employment after that. I'm disabled but not on disability (Denied 4 times. Thanks, Missouri!), and because of that employers openly deny me employment all the time. I'll literally lose everything with zero recourse.

As if things couldn't get any worse, I was informed that my license has been suspended when I tried to renew my car tags last month. I never received notice in the mail, likely because I moved. I did some digging and found out an old debt of mine from 10 years ago had been sold to a predatory debt collection law firm, who promtly had the local circuit court suspend my license until I allow them to garnish my wages, which would just exacerbate an already volatile situation. My tags expire on the 31st, and it will only be a matter of time before I'm pulled over for my expired tags and promptly arrested for driving on a suspended license.

I'm scared and not sure what else to do as a marginalized citizen with no help available, governement, community, or otherwise. So, I'm hoping maybe a few kind strangers in the world might take pity on me and be willing to help, even if it's only a small donation or just sharing my campaign with someone you know who might be able to help. My sister is helping by letting me stay with her, but I don't have anywhere to go for the rest.

Here is a breakdown of what I need to raise:

Storage Unit: $154
Title Loan: $1190.97
Overdrawn Bank Account: $565.12
Tags for 2 years: $85
Faber & Brand (License Suspension): $2575.81

Full Total Needed: $4570.90

If you can share this literally everywhere and with anyone you think might be able to help, please do. I'm incredibly grateful for any help anyone can give.
