Please Help Me With My Van

Hello. My name is Nicole and I will be 22 years old on Sep. 30th. I have a muscle disease called Reducing Body Myopathy. This disease affects all my muscles. I am on a Trach and ventilator and I use a power wheelchair to get around. I control it with my fingertips.

I’m asking for any help that you can give to purchase a reliable accessible van to mainly go to doctors’ appointments but also to get out and enjoy life. I currently have a 2004 van that is a mess! It always has something wrong with it and my family pitched in recently for major repairs. (and the check engine light is on again) Besides that, it’s definitely a van that I do not feel safe commuting to places. We often rent a different/newer van in order to provide transportation when going places that are not local.

Instead of continually spending money on repairs to keep this van alive, I would like to finally purchase a safe and reliable van. I recently found a used 2012 Toyota Sienna van that has 36K miles with the perfect setup for me. It has a seat directly beside me and a bench seat in the back. It’s at Mobility Works in Delaware. The guys call it a “Unicorn” because not many vans come in like this however it is $40,000. Yep, they don’t come cheap!! It’s in excellent condition and was cared for with love by an elderly couple. I included some pictures of the van so you don’t think this is a scam.

So, to sum it up, any donation of any size will go to this van. I’m not an organization so you can’t write off the donation but you will be helping out someone who will be very grateful for anything donated!
