Compassion, Commitment, Care. These words come to mind first when thinking of our dear friend Candejah. A wise and dedicated community leader, Candejah is always ready and willing to show up for justice- no matter the cost.

When she's not busy working as a PCA or fighting for the rights of her neighbors in one of many local activist groups, Candejah can be found caring for her amazing grandchildren, sharing her immense artistic talents through song and art, or guiding youth to find their own voice through the arts in her inspiring organization, Chess Angels Promotions.

If you live in Western MA, Candejah’s hard and continuous efforts here have undoubtedly made your world a little brighter. Unfortunately, while Candejah has been busy showing up for us, she has experienced a number of setbacks in her home that require extensive repair and threaten her and her family’s health and safety.

Her home needs structural reinforcement, a new roof, water damage abatement, siding repairs, and a new hot water heater. Her kitchen and bathroom need some major repairs and are currently lacking flooring, cabinets, a stove/oven, a bathroom sink, and a completed shower. Window replacement has begun, but many more are needed. A group of community members have come together to help, but more funds are needed to make these necessary repairs.
