I would like to ask for your help and support, please.

Asking for help isn't something I have found easy over the years but I'm learning a different way and taking the leap of faith!

As you know I've been struggling with my eyes for almost two years; experiencing intense eye pain, headaches, nausea & blurred vision. I have only been able to work one or two days a week during this time, due to these symptoms and their subsequent management.

I am only able to use a screen for a short period, which sounds like a good thing but affects my ability to work.

Artificial light triggers pain; a real challenge this winter.

Strain in the form of simple household tasks raises internal eye pressure.

This has all been a real struggle and impacts my quality of life daily.

In the last year, the NHS has done all that it could and would not offer the treatment that I need. Unable to deal with this any longer I managed to book an Ophthalmologist appointment privately, and I received the correct diagnosis and treatment plan, which in itself has been a huge relief.

The medical info follows...just a warning if you feel a bit squeamish.

The Medical Diagnosis:

Anatomically Narrow Drainage Angles (in both eyes). This is rare for a woman of my age, as it usually affects women over sixty.

In layman's terms, this means that the channel through which the eye fluid flows can close, causing internal eye pressure to rise, potentially leading to blindness. The pain I have been experiencing is momentary 'closures'. I feel I have been very lucky so far.

Treatment:

Lens removal & replacement.

Lens replacement will increase the space within my eyes and prevent the narrow angles from permanently closing. This treatment is 99% effective. Early Lens Extraction Review in The Lancet

I can receive this surgery on 25th April and the full fee of £5120.00.

I know time is short to raise this amount of money but as my friend said to me last night "You have nothing to lose by trying"
