Pierce's study abroad--China
Donation protected
Going to an expeditionary learning school means this year we're taking a field trip to China! Instead of learning about the Great Wall of China and the Terra Cotta soldiers and the Forbidden City from here in Seattle I get to actually walk the wall, take an overnight train to Xian, and visit the burial mounds where they continue to find unearthed histories! Oh, and mom was chosen to be one of our chaperones.
Will you help me and mom get there? I thought about trying to sell guppies, but that would be a whole lot of guppies to raise over $4k... So instead I'm just going to ask for help. For those of you who decide to join me--either in thought & prayer or money or both--I'll be sharing what excites me!
And here's the first thing that I'm excited about: visiting not as a tourist but as a traveler, which means I get to listen and learn, seeing new sights, smelling new smells, tasting new tastes, meeting people I've never met before, all with curiosity instead of consumerism. This also means my biggest challenge looking ahead will be using nonWestern toilets...
Thanks for considering supporting my school field trip. And like I said, even if you can't give money (though every $1, $5, $1000 counts), I'd like you with me in thought and prayer. (And if you'd like a guppy, let me know!)
