Pi Kappa Alpha Marathon for Feeding America!

Spring quarter at the University of Washington is one of my absolute favorites. As a member of Pi Kappa Alpha (ΠΚΑ, or PIKE), I get to participate in some of the Greek Community's greatest philanthropy events that raise hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for charity.

Sadly, due to the pandemic and campus shutting down, these events are not happening, yet the needs have never been greater. Now,  PIKE is stepping up to help.

On Saturday, June 13th, I will be running my first marathon (26.2 miles!) around Seattle, starting and ending at the PIKE chapter house, with several of my fraternity brothers.  We are raising money for Feeding America to assist them in their COVID-19 relief program, providing food to communities in need during the crisis. At PIKE, we pride ourselves on athletics, and we take philanthropy to heart. We are excited to make a difference and we would love your help!

We are asking people to sponsor each mile of our race. That is, donate between $1 and $26 (Of course, feel free to donate more). We want to get every mile covered and will give shoutouts to our donors throughout the race.  Make sure to include your name so we can thank you! More information about Feeding America: Feeding America is the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization with 200 food banks across the United States. With school closures, job disruptions and health risks due to the coronavirus, millions of Americans will turn to food banks for much-needed support. Every day, there are already millions of children and adults who do not get the meals they need. We work to get nourishing food - from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers - to our neighbors. Every $1 donated provides at least 10 meals to families in need!
