My name is Adri, and I am a photojournalist. I'm 21 years old, and permanently disabled due to problems with my brain and central nervous system. I live with constant and often severe chronic pain, along with many other symptoms. There is no treatment or cure - I will live with this for the rest of my life.
However, after nearly losing my life about a year ago, I found my passion in traveling and nature photography. It inspires me like nothing else ever has! With my camera in hand, I feel that I can do anything. I climb mountains and explore caves, hike to waterfalls and follow little trails through the middle of nowhere.
My faithful canine companion, Nelly, is always by my side to watch over and protect me.

I have fallen so in love with nature photography that I've quit my job and dropped out of college to become a vagabond. My van has a twin mattress with storage underneath for basic necessities. A solar panel will be supplying my electricity needs. Various other modifications have turned my minivan into the equivalent of a tent on wheels!
I'm nearly ready to hit the road. There's just one problem - my van needs some work done on it before I leave, including needing new tires and brakes. All of this is going to cost around $1,000. My ultimate goal is a new(to me) off-road vehicle. However, I'm very good at making do with what I have. My van may not be the ideal vehicle for my work as a photojournalist, but after the needed repairs, it will get the job done!
I try to use my photography to benefit more than just myself. I first picked up a camera when fostering dogs for rescue, because good pictures helped dogs get adopted. I continue to donate photoshoots to shelters, rescues, and various nonprofit organizations. In fact, it is my preference to work with nonprofits whenever possible!
Through my work, I see every single day the affect that us humans have had on this planet. I aim to take photos that make people think twice - not just about what they're seeing, but about how their own actions so easily affect the world around us.
I'm a young woman with a dream. There's millions of us out there, and I have the disadvantage of disabling health problems. But I know what I want, and I am not afraid of working hard to get it. I know that I am ambitious, intelligent, and a very skilled photographer; I want to use these skills to bring about positive change in the world.
With more than 100,000 photo views in 2016, I've learned that a single person can absolutely have a huge impact!
Your support means the world to me! Funds will go, first and foremost, to getting my car repaired. Anything beyond that will be used to finance my travels and photo work. If you want to make a large donation & would like something in return - such as a print, photos of a specific person or place, etc - please contact me and let's work something out! However, no donation is too large or too small - they are all very much appreciated.
Thank you so much - from both myself, and Nelly!
