Hello All,

As many of you have already heard, our beloved friend and family member, Peter (PJ) O'Brien passed away suddenly Saturday, August 29th, 2020 due to complications from a massive stroke he suffered earlier that week.  Peter’s sister Jeanne was by his side at the time of his passing – and Pete was in no pain and seemed at peace when he passed.

Due to the far geographic reach of many of Pete’s family and friends and the COVID related travel restrictions, Pete’s family has decided not to have a service for him at this time. Instead, they will be planning a ‘Celebration of Life’ for Pete in/around Albany, NY sometime in the Spring/Summer 2021 – at which point we hope the COVID-related health scares and travel restrictions will be behind us so we can all congregate to celebrate Peter’s life and his legacy together.

As the news of Pete’s sudden passing continues to spread, his immediate family has received countless offers to help during this difficult time. In direct response to this overwhelming outpouring of support for Pete and his family, we have created this GoFundMe page in Pete’s honor.  Donations can be made by clicking on the link below and the donated funds will be used by Pete’s immediate family to help pay for Pete’s medical/cremation expenses and travel/logistical expenses incurred by his family.

All additional funds will be donated to Damien Center - a local non-profit organization that Pete was an advocate for – a resource center designed to improve health, reduce stress, and increase the quality of life in a supportive atmosphere for individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
