Peruvian National Team

Friends,
As many of you know, my mother immigrated to America from Peru in 1962. I love America and the opportunities it has afforded my family, and I’m also very proud of my Peruvian heritage.
You also know that I love sports (lacrosse and wrestling most of all) as a challenge for myself, as a way to grow as a person, and as a way to connect with others as a teammate and as a coach. I recently auditioned for the Peruvian National Lacrosse team. I was selected to join the team and play in the World Lacrosse Championsips(WLC) this Summer.
As you might imagine, Peruvian lacrosse is in its infancy, and the Peruvian Lacrosse Association is under-resourced across coaching, experience, training, and funding.
Because of my playing experience, and the volunteer coaching work that many of you are familiar with, to help get the team ready, I’ve been asked to travel to Peru from April 19th-April 23rd to train and prepare the team for the WLC. In addition to my mentoring duties, I’ll also be training with the team as a player. Additionally, we’ll be traveling and staying in Netanya, Israel from July 12th-July 21st as we compete in the tournament.
I can’t do this without your help. Lisa, Thomas Luca, Baby Ella, and I have been saving, budgeting, and working to earn extra money. But the total cost for travel and expenses for me to invest in Peruvians lacrosse and play in the tournament is $3,500.
Above and beyond the expenses I need to cover for myself, some of my teammates, as well as the Peruvian Lacrosse Association, do not have access to even the resources I do here in America. If I am blessed to raise the funds for my expenses, anything I raise beyond that amount I will use to cover the expenses of less-resourced teammates or PLA expenses applicable to the training camp and event. (I will, of course, insure accountability and transparency by asking for invoices and receipts).
If you would like to support me in this endeavor, you can donate in any of the following ways:
(1) Our Website: https://www.perulaxusa.com/shop
(2) Venmo address- @Tommy-Schober
(3) Check made out to Tommy Schober
(4) Here on the GoFundMe
If you are unable to provide support at this time, I understand. There will be no hard feelings. I also value your well wishes, thoughts, and prayers just as much and would be happy to know about those as well. I also intend to keep all supporters updated as I prepare for the trip, and as I travel, participate in training, and compete.
If you have any questions, I am happy to discuss further. And thanks for your time and attention.
