Lori was diagnosed with IPF approximately 2 years ago. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic and ultimately fatal disease characterized by a progressive decline in lung function. The term pulmonary fibrosis means scarring of lung tissue and is the cause of worsening shortness of breath.
Lori is now in the final stages of IPF and will require a double-lung transplant in order to survive. Lung transplants are very expensive and also bring along with them months of recovery. Although her insurance will likely cover the surgery there will be subsequent costs related to her surgery and recovery.
We are looking to raise some funds to help out with these subsequent costs. We have set up a set up a website where "Be Brave" bracelets may be purchased in honor of Lori, $10 from each item purchased will go directly to her care and recovery. We also have the GoFundMe page set up if you would prefer to make a direct donation.
