On September 22, 2017, Bill was in a motorcycle accident and has been hospitalized since then. If not for his helmet, he probably would be dead. His injuries are quite severe. He incurred multiple broken bones and several other Traumatic injuries. Among the broken bones were 4 fractures in his left leg, two of which were compound. His doctors tried for nearly a week to repair the damage to his leg, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and were forced to remove it from ju...st below the knee.
He is slowly progressing but has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Thank God, he has a great attitude and with a lot of work, I am sure he will be self-sufficient once again. He is looking forward to being transferred as soon as possible to another facility, one equipped for more aggressive rehabilitation.
His family is trying to make sure his ongoing needs are met. To that end, arrangements have been made for his bathroom to be remodeled to accommodate his new requirements. This is just one of a many modifications necessary on his home to have as normal a lifestyle and to be as self sufficient as he can be.
P. J. Fitzpatrick, the company doing the tub to shower conversion has committed to doing the work at their cost. This is a substantial savings over the value of the project. The cost of the work to be done in the bathroom alone is in the thousands of dollars. Ramps, a stairlift and several other modifications may also be needed each with it's own cost that will need to be paid.
At this point, with no paycheck, short term or long term disability available to him through work, the financial burden of these modifications are overwhelming as he does not have the financial resources to fill this need, let alone other expenses that will arise.
His family is requesting you keep him in your prayers as well as any financial assistance you can provide. Any help you give will be greatly appreciated.
