We are Paxton's Brain Cancer Warriors!

Who I am:
I am honored to call Paxton my child. This story is about him. Having loved and adored this boy since before he was born, I aspired to protect and rear him to be a remarkable man. The course of the last three months has taught me that Paxton is my hero and he has taught me far more about life, resiliency and being remarkable than I ever will teach
him. He is the strongest and bravest little boy. He has faced brain cancer head on and is fighting like a warrior. I want to show him that we are all his wing people in this fight by bringing him magic, joy, wonder, laughter, and hope in the form of a treehouse. No One Fights Alone!!!!

Who Paxton Is:
Paxton is so much more than a brain cancer warrior; he has a much more nuanced identity. He is remarkable, brave, and kind-hearted beyond measure little boy. He is a fighter, an odds defier, loving, smart, and handsome. He is a Kindergartner, a son, a brother, and a friend.

His Diagnosis:
On November 10, 2022, after a collapse at school, Paxton was given an unimaginable diagnosis that he had a softball size brain tumor. He immediately underwent a brain biopsy, had another surgery to install a central port line and was placed in the ICU. We were given the results of the biopsy, that he has an aggressive and rare cancerous brain tumor. After a whirlwind of meetings with neurosurgeons and neuro oncologists, and grim outcome warnings, we made the decision (truthfully, the only option to allow him to live) to immediately begin him on chemotherapy. Surgery to remove his type of tumor is and will not be a viable option. He has endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy. This meant hospitalization for 3 days for every round. Each dose has been increasingly harder on his little body, as the poison which is making him better and killing the tumor cells, is also killing good cells and making him sick. His tumor has caused adrenal insufficiency. He has a litany of meds. Diarrhea, vomiting, and feeling sick are unfortunately side effects. He has been given red blood cell and platelet transfusions. He was able to enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s despite being in the hospital each of those days. He turned 6 years old, in mid-January and was able to enjoy the day with his best friends and some family. Spending the last few months battling brain cancer with multiple hospital stays, countless treatments and ongoing care has put a burden on him that no child should have to endure. He is such a brave fighter and has handled his trials with super strength, a sparkling personality and even humor despite being terribly ill throughout the process. Our Paxi Pie is still letting his hilarious and charming personality shine and is heartwarming and delightful. Getting to see the doctors, nurses, technicians, cleaning crew and everyone he meets, fall in love with this special and unique soul. He won them over with his jokes, his fist bumps, his handshakes, his large heart, and never-ending love.

Purpose of This Go Fund Me:
Paxton's greatest wish is to have a free-standing tree house at his home. He loves to enjoy time outdoors, by himself, with his older brother, Connor and with his friends. He wants to climb a rope ladder, run, slide on a twisting slide, swing on a tire, have a loft to play in and a track to race his trucks and cars on.

How can you help:
Let's help this sweet child reach his goal so that his imagination and the joys of just being a kid become a reality! Let’s allow him to spread his wings and have a blast being a kid! Make-A-Wish has been contacted by his amazing oncology team at Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. They will hopefully be helping to fulfill his wish soon. We are wanting to match or completely fulfill what Make-A-Wish would do so their contribution will allow another child to be able to fulfill their wish. Every single dollar counts. No donation is too small! Honestly, if $5 is what you can give, it is plenty. You shouldn't feel you have to give any more than what you are comfortable with and able to give. We believe there are enough people who care about Paxi and his wish, that we will pass the goal easily. Every single donation will go directly to fulfilling Paxton’s wish.

Looking Forward:
We do not know what the future brings, we are living one day at a time and enjoying and soaking in each moment. I will keep y’all updated. He is a remarkable soul and as strong as an ox. Thank you for being willing to show Paxton that life is full of hope, wonder and joy. We are Paxton’s Warriors. No One Fights Alone!!!!
