Help Louie Fight for His Life

This is my boy, Louie. On Saturday, March 8th, 2025, our lives changed in an instant. Louie was hit by a car in Oldbury. The driver didn’t stop, didn’t check on him—just left him there, broken and alone. But Louie wasn’t alone for long. A kind stranger saw him and, without hesitation, rushed him to the vet. For that, I am eternally grateful.

If you’ve ever met Louie, you know he’s one of the sweetest souls. He loves holding hands, giving hugs, and being the best friend to his little human, Maddie. Louie has been our rock through some of life’s hardest moments. He came into our world at exactly the right time being our source of strength and joy and has been nothing but pure love ever since.

Right now, Louie is fighting for his chance at life at Waves in Cockburn. He has suffered head trauma, multiple fractures in his skull and face, and brain swelling. The MRI showed bleeding in his brain, but the vets are hopeful that with time, the swelling will go down. He also has fractures near his ear that could affect his balance, but we won’t know the full impact until he begins to heal. His recovery will be a long road, and we are taking it moment by moment, celebrating even the smallest victories—like him taking a few syringe-fed sips of food today.

But with this fight comes an overwhelming financial burden. The initial emergency costs were already more than I could afford, and as the days go by, the expenses continue to rise. We don’t yet know what Louie will need next, whether it’s more intensive care, specialists, or rehabilitation. I may have to adjust the fundraising goal as we learn more, but every single donation—no matter how small—means the world to us. This isn’t easy to ask, but if you can help in any way, it would be more appreciated than words can express.

Most importantly, we just want to give Louie the chance he deserves. He is still here. He is still fighting. And I will do everything in my power to fight alongside him.

For those who know Maddie personally, she only just found out what happened to her best friend. She has now seen him, and as you can imagine, she is struggling with all the emotions that come with seeing someone you love in pain.
