If you've been following me, you know that a little over a year ago, I moved to the Los Angeles area to get sober and put myself through treatment.
I completed 90 days of treatment.
I have over 14 months sober and counting.
I work a strong recovery program, complete with stepwork, sponsorship, meeting attendance, and service work.
My continued recovery is my top priority.
I work a fulltime job.
I went back to school and earned a medical certification.
My goal in the coming year is to start nursing school.
I have some health issues that I'll need take care of within the next month or so.
Having said that, it's time for me to move on from my current living situation.
This phase of my life has run its course, and if I'm going to continue fighting for my recovery, I need my home to be a sacred space for me and my furbabies: Dobby and Bridget Jones.
I'm grateful to have had shared a space for the past year, but relationships change and what worked for me then, no longer serves me now, and, at times, is detrimental to my recovery.
This is where I ask for help.
I am working a full time job, but I need to be out within the next month or two, but trying to save up for a deposit and first month's rent, while currently paying rent on the room I'm renting is more than I can realistically do on my own.
I'm also going to be having a major stomach surgery that will take me out of work for roughly a week which only adds to my challenges.
Recovery has taught me to ask for help when I need it, and get out of the way so God can put it on others' hearts to help.
I'm asking for $2,000. It's not the entire amount that I need, but it would be a large chunk towards a first month's rent and deposit and household essentials. I sold or gave away almost everything to get here.
But here I am, doing my best to grow where I'm planted and hoping you'll find it in your heart to help me out during this time. No donation is too small.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Paul
