Paul & Noelene Stumpf Fundraiser
Donation protected
As many of you know, our parents Paul and Noelene are facing hard times. In April 2019 Paul went on a medical leave from his job, was admitted to the hospital and spent 8 days there, being treated for severe depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies. After being able to go home, there has been little improvement, making it impossible for him to work, drive or even be left alone.
Many doctor appointments later, and concluding that he is "medication resistant" to any of the drugs that could help, they have been told that the treatment that stands the best chance to get his brain functioning normally again is electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Unfortunately, before he can be treated using ECT, insurance and specialists need to first see him try and fail a treatment of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), mainly due to the fact that it is cheaper and safer (although less effective).
His TMS treatments started roughly 1 week ago and have an uncovered cost of $15,000. He goes 5 times a week, for an expected 6 to 8 weeks. Although their family helps whenever they can, because of Noelene's physical disabilities, the simple act of driving to these appointments has already been taxing, leaving her exhausted from extreme pain.
If TMS is unsuccessful, Paul will begin the ECT treatment which costs $25,000.
Due to his extended leave of absence his health insurance will shortly be gone as well.
Anyone that knows Paul, knows that he is the most hardworking, and selfless man and we need your help to get him back to his old self! The family has no income for the foreseeable future and received their first bill for Paul's 8 day hospital stay, which was roughly $6,000 after insurance.
So many of you have already given your time and prayers and we cannot thank you enough. We have been so blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible and generous friends and family. Please continue to pray, and help us support Paul and Noelene through this.
All proceeds will go directly to Paul and Noelene to assist with medical bills.
