More information on Myself, my horse, and our journey!
Firstly, Thank you for taking the time to read this, if nothing else.
My name is Rachel McDonough, I am 24 years old, and I am a up and coming Canadian 3- day event rider.
Irish Rhythm came into my life when I was 13 years old, he was purchased straight off the track for $1,200.00 by my supportive parents. It was dream come true, my first horse!
Over the past 11 years Oliver and I have built a friendship and partnership based on trust and a mutual respect for one another. I truly believe in our connection and we know each other inside and out.
throught the years Oliver has taken me to two North American Juniour Young Rider Championships (CCI1*& CCI2*), our first CIC3* at Jersey Fresh, where we finished 8th place, 13th at our first CCI3* at FairHill International, and then our first CCI4* at Rolex Kentucky where we ran double clear cross country and finihsed 25th. Our most recent accomplishment has been at Bromont CCI3* where we placed 4th as the top placed Canadian. This horse and I have come on a long journey, one in which I hope still has a long road ahead.
Oliver and I are seeking fundraising from those who have watched us along the way, friends, and just die hard eventing fans, to help this dream team continue onto the road of sucess.
Unfortunately our Canadian federation lacks the funding to hand out grants to riders, so money is expected to be fundraised alone or come straight out of pocket. As you all know this sport comes with a price tag, and big goals cannot be reached alone! I encourage you to open your hearts to us, cheer us on, and become apart of the team! Oliver and I cannot wait to get to France and attack that cross country course, we just need your help to do it!
