High School Tuition

Hi, my name is Patrik I am raising money for my high school tuition. I have been accepted to a Catholic High School starting my freshmen year in September. I am graduating in June from the 8th grade after 9 years at the same Catholic School. I have been very successful through my tenure at my school receiving mostly all "A's". I feel my success has been in part by being in this small faith community where I have been surrounded by great teachers and friends. As I graduate in a few weeks I will be sad to leave the home that I have known for most of my life but I know I will be going to another great Catholic school with 6 of my classmates from SMS and feel confident that I will have as good as an experience as I did at SMS if not better. I am asking for this money because my family is currently experiencing financial struggles and going to a Catholic high school means the world to me. I visited the local public high school which takes up to 1800 students but didn’t feel the same to me as it felt strange not being in a faith-based environment. It has been a wonderful experience to be exposed to God and my faith during my school day. I also visited another Catholic school in the area but this school has always been the place I feel would best give me that same close faith-based family I have had with my time at SMS as this HS only excepts up to 500 students. In 6th grade, I won the spelling bee for my class and came in 2nd in the regionals. I have also recently won the Knights of Columbus Essay Contest. This contest’s theme was to write about a person in Catholic history who has gone beyond the ordinary or what was expected... I choose Mother Teresa who is now been made a Saint. Also, due to my High School Placement Test grades, I have been granted a free computer that each student has to have. In addition, I have just earned my Life Rank in April with Boy Scouts and will be eligible for my Eagle Rank in 6 months. Some other accomplishments I have achieved is becoming altar server for the past 5 years and becoming a captain of my team. I have also earned the Ad Altare Dei Catholic medal. This medal incorporated all seven sacraments in depth. For one of the chapters, we went to Congregate Housing which is a senior living home for 15 visits after school to help the elderly fix things in their apartments, call bingo, play games with them, and deliver treats to their door. This medal was presented to me by the bishop of Bridgeport at a special ceremony last June. Although this was a long 5-month intense program I found it to be very rewarding getting a closer and personal understanding of each sacrament. I also currently have 134 hours of community service logged to date. I will be taking all honors classes in HS so I will not be just trying to get by. I will also be trying to make the freshmen basketball team and possibly join cross country or soccer there as well. I will make the most of my time in HS and maybe with my hard work I will graduate top of my class in 2022. I want to enjoy my high school experience but my priority is to be a good student and prepare myself for college. The tuition there is around $14,000 per year not including uniforms, books and any sports I may be accepted to. I don't know what our financial situation will be over my 4 years but this year so far I have earned $3,000 in financial aid, and currently, am applying to a scholarship that will grant me $1,000 my freshman year and $1,000 my sophomore year. I will use any money that is funded to me to cover any expenses related to my high school education only over the next 4 years. My goal is to do all that I can to raise as much as I can over the 4 years through this campaign, and scholarships to help my parents. I know my parents will continue to do all they can to ensure I go to this HS as they did for me at SMS even during many struggles, but now I want to do my part to give back to them as I realize how important my Catholic education is to me especially with all the other challenges high school can bring. I will be so grateful if my tuition is covered as my Catholic Faith is very important to me and I want to stay close to God in my high school years and beyond. Please help me get the word out by sharing with your friends.
