Finally, on Nov. 10th while ending my job assignment heading home I get the call. from Mt. Sinai who said drop everything and get here in two hours fast. We have a kidney.! Being a 24/7 active person, this was a major life change in activity, work, diet, everything. Must take Life time medications to sustain my kidney life..

With all of my health insurance I found that it just does not cover all the expense. Co pays for one. Co pays run into the thousands.! I was unable to return to work so help with household expenses is needed. urgently.

I could not drive until February 2026. Without a car or need public transportation on Long Island your doomed.

No lifting, excessive walking, away from crowds, mask up. special diet.

Meanwhile my vehicle. insurance is due. housing/utilities is due again.

My income disqualified me for certain assistance and I was restricted from working to prevent damage to the kidney.

Travelling back and forth to Mt Sinai twice a week. 20 miles one way. I have to pay driver . Cannot use public transportation at all.

Whatever you can contribute to help with these expenses , medical is over the top. Household, transportation. Co pays are so beyond belief its frightening. Medications are now covered but I still have to pay co pays. .

I don't know what else to tell you about me.. Other then that I have always been independent and this has been a huge life change for me but I am grateful to have my life extended.
