I was crushed to find out, the strongest man I will ever know, my father, William Patriarch sr. has inoperable lung cancer.
The ignorance I displayed in the first 5 minutes of hearing the news was maybe understandable. He is after all, a non-smoker, who never worked with asbestos, or in a coal mine so.... HOW?? How is this possible? Why?
Well I quickly found that cancer doesn’t care. In fact, about 20% of people who die of lung cancer are tobacco free. The good news for us was finding out there are medications that can put this horrible disease into remission.
The second kick in the crotch came in the form of the price of these meds, and the treatment as a whole.
The medication is just over $6,800 a month, A MONTH of which insurance is only covering $2,800.  This doesn't even count the hospital bills already piling up. My father proudly served in the Marines but the VA is a nightmare and provides more frustration than assistance.
For this reason I have started this campaign, Cuck Fancer!! For my father to beat this, we need to ask sympathetic heroes like you who are willing and able to give him a chance. A chance to fight, a chance to survive.
I wish I had the means to be able to take care of him without asking for help but, I do not. I cannot express my feeling of shame nor my unfathomable gratitude to those of you who may help. Just know this is the most difficult thing I have ever faced... and I'm not the one with cancer. I cannot imagine what my Dad is going through.
