Pat and Gayle's 40th Anniversary

Meet Gayle and Pat Scott.  They are my parents, and they are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year on December 4th.

I wanted to organize a big surprise party for them over the Christmas holiday this year when the four of us will be together, for people to  celebrate this momentus anniversary, but with Dad still in treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, (he is doing very well, and fighting hard!) we are trying to avoid any large gatherings that may compromise his health during flu season.

I also wanted to try to give them a big gift, not only for their 40 years together, but because they have a dream of going back to Hawaii, hopefully in celebration of Dad going into remission in the near future.  Hawaii is the first place they want to go when Dad is allowed to get on a plane to travel.  We are all hoping that this might happen in the coming Spring.

If Ben and I could afford to pay for this trip ourselves, we would, but we can't do it without some help.  We're hoping friends and family might be able to contribute to this gift to give my parents the 40th anniversary celebration they deserve, after this particularly trying  year.  The amount above includes accommodations, more comfortable travel, direct Redding to Hawaii flights, rental car, a couple meals at their favorite restaurants, and two weeks spent between two islands.   Please contribute if you are able, and thank you so much for anything you can give!  We plan to share this gift with them at Christmas!
